Basketball season to begin

first_imgThis competition along with the PNG Games continues to identify talented players who represent the country at international events.PMBL is calling on existing and new basketball clubs to confirm their participation for the season.The existing franchise clubs are Exodus, Saints, Chariots, Flames, Tamaraws and West Jokers.PMBL’s Lawrence Lahari urges all franchises to confirm their participation by next Tuesday  February 9 during a meeting to be staged by PMBL.Lahari said they’ve planned for six current teams to compete this season although there is some interest out there for another additional franchise.The appointment of PMBL Board members will also take place during the meeting and the appointment of an internal auditor.Lahari also confirmed that the 2015 season champions KSS Flames and runner-up Moniplus Tamaraws will have their prize money settled before the start of this seasons competition.PMBL plans to run its competition on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night from 6pm to 8pm.  The venue is yet to be confirmed.last_img
