TSX flat as investors cautious ahead of eurozone meeting

TORONTO — The Toronto Stock Exchange pushed slightly higher just after it opened as commodity prices recovered some lost ground ahead of a meeting of eurozone leaders later this week.The S&P/TSX added 1.73 points to 11,336.35.The Canadian dollar shed 0.11 of a cent to 97.55 cents US.The August crude contract moved up $1 to US$80.36 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.The August gold contract added $6.40 to US$1,581.30 an ounce, while the July copper contract inched up two cents to US$3.34 a pound.On Wall Street, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 41.33 points to 12,576 and the S&P 500 was up 5.3 points to 1,325.3, while the Nasdaq gained 10.89 points to 2,864.95.
